There are two judging rounds to ensure the best solutions rise to the top. In both phases, participants will have five (5) minutes to pitch their solution to the judges. Both phases will be evaluated using the same judging criteria.
The Expo is the first round of judging for the teams. The expo will mimic a science fair where teams present their solutions simultaneously to a number of judges. All teams will have five minutes to pitch their solution and three minutes for Q&A with the judges. Three different judges will see each team and evaluate their pitch using a set judging criteria.
The top five teams from the expo will move on to a Dragon’s Den-style finale. The top five teams will be called up from the crowd live, to present on stage to a panel of judges who will decide on first, second, and third place.
- Desirability - How impactful will the solution be to end-users? What proof points are available to demonstrate that the solution is meaningful for users?
- Feasibility - How feasible is the solution in the context of the built environment, considering existing and future infrastructure and processes?
- Viability - To what extent is the solution a viable option for the challenge?
- Pitch - How well are the challenge and solution articulated by the team? Is the innovation clearly described and easy to understand?
