What is an Innovation Jam? Is an Innovation Jam a Hackathon?Go Studio Innovation Jam is the best of a hackathon, design jam and Shark Tank, all in one! Innovation Jam is a fun, fast-moving, inclusive competition where anyone can innovate and help solve a real-world problem. We are virtually bringing together tech enthusiasts, creative thinkers and business analysts from all over North America – anyone with a curious mind and the drive to solve a unique challenge in March 2021.
The Jam will take place over the course of 4 weeks, giving teams plenty of time to work together and build unique solution while still living their lives! During the Jam, you’ll work with your team to develop ideas that support older adults as they age in place using an emerging technology as your basis. Spread throughout the 4 weeks will be events where you’ll receive expert mentorship, hear from relevant speakers and presenters, connect and network in various entertaining virtual events, and check-in with mentors and event organizers. Teams can stay connected to each other (and to the organizing team) during this time through a communication tool, which they’ll receive an invitation to closer to the start of the event. At the end of the competition, your team will submit a five-minute video presentation for your idea to our panel of judges, who will carefully review each submission during the review period before announcing winners. Keep this date in mind, submissions are due on April 23rd, of course we’ll send reminders. Stay tuned for the winners announcement scheduled for May 7th.
