GIFT THE CODE 2018
Gift The Code 2018

This year’s Gift the Code is going to be a smash! The third annual Gift the Code Hackathon will take place at the new, beautiful Globe and Mail Centre in downtown Toronto.

Since 2016, the Gift the Code Hackathon has had a simple purpose at its core: to help our community leveraging our collective skills and use digital for good to help bridge the tech gap faced by local charities.

Gift the Code brings together coders, developers, designers, coaches, mentors and many more smart people, and we pair them up with charities. We're looking for a diverse group of keeners with big brains and even bigger hearts. All experience levels are welcome. Everyone works together over an intense weekend to solve a problem and have an amazing time. The challenges are positive, the end result is reusable, open-source code that can be used by anyone, and we're all in good company.

Event Format and Schedule

Gift the Code is a weekend-long event. The heart of the event is to do some good, necessary work to support our local communities, and it’s also a genuinely good time. People meet each other and make friends, there are amazing speakers and judges, the food is divine – it’s not unlike a brainy, entertaining party that’s catered and comfy.

Here’s what you can expect this year:
