All teams will present their solutions at the Semi-Final Event in March 2020 (date to be confirmed – stay tuned!), in Kelowna. Teams will be set-up in a science-fair style Expo and will pitch their solution to a series of judges.
The judges will use predetermined criteria to evaluate the solutions and decide on the top 5 solutions. These 5 teams, will become the ‘finalist teams’ and will move on to the second phase of the AquaHacking Challenge.
Phase 2 includes attending an immersive weekend expedition on the water, at Silver Lake Resort (Okanagan Lake).
Throughout Phase 2, teams will continue to refine their solution and have access to coaches to support them with business strategy, communications and legal issues. Each of the 5 finalist teams will present their solution to a panel of Judges, at the AquaHacking Challenge Final Event in June 2020 (date to be confirmed – stay tuned!).
In addition to a spot in a start-up incubator, the top 5 teams will also receive cash prizes:
